So, today I thought I would branch out and write about something non-rugby related. Someone recently posed me the question, “Can the United States become a future footballing power or will it always be a retirement home for big names?” I thought it was an interesting question, one which merited further investigation, so today’s topic is such.
Same shit, different tournament. Once again Toulon are the champions of Europe and Clermont, despite being pre-favourites, choked big time.
For the third straight year Toulon are Europe’s premier club, the first side to achieve such a feat, or rather purchase it. My feelings regarding Toulon and their contribution to the European game in the last few years should be very clear from my previous posts. However rather than just bash Toulon in this post (tempting as that sounds), this one involves trophies; the actual physical trophies.
